Having two kids of his own (12 and 11), Tom completely appreciates that some things are just too difficult to teach your own kids. It was a love of biking that inspired Tom to set out and create FreeRiders. It's his passion and goal to help all kids get moving on two wheels, with confidence and excitement, and experience the "freedom to ride".

Tom has worked with kids over the past 15 years. Starting out as a marine biology instructor for grades K-12 at a local aquarium in Manhattan Beach, CA, he learned the ins and outs of how to communicate with children. From there, he then moved onto coordinating beach cleanups and speaking engagements with school groups about protecting the beaches and oceans. He is also on the PFA Board of Directors for Traffic and Safety at his children's school.
